CYPHERPUNK NOW

CypherpunkNow (Martin Fischer) is a Czech artist and screenprinter who has been building the visual mythology of Bitcoin since 2015. In 2014, as a member of the Czech art collective Ztohoven, he co-founded Paralelní Polis in Prague, a three-story hackerspace operating on a Bitcoin-only economy and home to the world's first Bitcoin-only café. It was there, inside the Institute of Cryptoanarchy, that he set up his first screenprinting table and fell into the Bitcoin rabbit hole for good. His work fuses hand-pulled screenprints with digital pixels and fragments of vintage engravings into bold, layered compositions. Each print is produced in small editions, signed, numbered, and certified on the Bitcoin blockchain. The analog process is deliberate: digital concepts translated through physical friction, texture, and the irreversibility of the human hand. He adopted the name CypherpunkNow in 2020, marking the beginning of the practice as it exists today. His prints have been shown at the Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis and at Bitcoin conferences across Europe and the United States. In 2025 he released a retrospective spanning his first decade, ten years of screenprinted Bitcoin history from a founding figure of the movement.
