Bitcoin Anime Girl is a preliminary sketch for a larger oil painting. A memetic homage to the iconic figure first minted as the Counterparty asset CCGBTCONE in 2017. The character carries a subtle cultural weight: she briefly appeared as Elon Musk's Twitter profile picture, seeding Bitcoin's symbolic presence into mainstream consciousness, and her likeness resurfaces in Grok's AI avatar Ani. Rendered in crimson pencil, this drawing traces that lineage back to its origin.

Curatorial Commentary

One of three drawings Pepenardo made from the MASTER CUTS OUT THE STONE canvas. She occupies the lower left of that painting, the one looking directly out at you. Pulled from the composition and rendered as a standalone object, the drawing is intimate in a way the painting is not. A fragment that contains the whole.
