JPG Is Not Bitcoin #10/21

Ceci n'est pas un bitcoin. When Bitcoin Inscriptions appeared, I was tempted to enter that world – but something kept telling me that a JPG is not Bitcoin, even if it might look like it. I thought of René Magritte's The Treachery of Images – "This Is Not a Pipe". A picture of a pipe is not a pipe; it's only a representation. I asked GPT to explain the painting and then to replace the word "pipe" with "Bitcoin". That's how JPG Is Not Bitcoin came about. I took the familiar JPG file icon, turned the mountains into a volatility chart and replaced the sun with the Bitcoin logo. Up close the image breaks into pixels – a nod to the size limits of Bitcoin Inscriptions. The typography is borrowed from Magritte. And since I couldn't resist, I also created Bitcoin Inscription #59015183 and listed it for 1 BTC – with a warning that it has no value. Prove me wrong. Nine-color hand-pulled screen print on black paper, edition of 21. This is print #10/21. Full story and documentation: https://www.martin-fischer.cz/en/cypherpunknow/jpg-is-not-bitcoin-2024/
